The Seahorse Farm

The seahorse farm has a really cool story behind it. Would you like to hear it, okay. About 10 years ago 2 people started a organization called the Seahorse Farm in order to save seahorses from extinction.  They took a couple seahorses and they acully domesticated them wich no one have ever done before.  Did you know that the males actually get pregnant and he can have up to 600 babies at a time and the longest that they are not pregnant for is 1 minute!  After giving birth, they wait one minute and then the female puts the eggs into the male's pouch again.  When seahorses breed they hook tails and go together till they are face to face and then the two breed.  I love the seahorse farm. Seahorses were once found in every ocean. Did you know that seahorses only live up to 2 years in the wild! In order to own a seahorse you must take an 8 week course then get a certificate. Only then you can own a seahorse that comes from the seahorse farm. The picture on top of this blog is of me holding a seahorse called Mr. Slim. He is about 12 years old and he is one of the largest seahorses on the farm.
