Last Plane Ride

The trip is over done, so fast. But I think it was almost the perfect time.  I think what I liked best was, everything! I got the pictures from the Hilton and I will add them on this last entry. This has been one of the best vacations I will ever have in my life it's been one vacation that I will always remember.  I learned that there was no predators on the islands and so they brought in mongoose because the rat population was to great.   Since mongoose are day animals and rats are nocturnal it didn't work so the ferrets started eating bird eggs! The big island is the biggest island of Hawaii.  I really enjoyed my trip to Hawaii.  It was very fun.

Island Breeze Luau

Last night my family and I went to a Luau, the Island Breeze Luau.  The stunts were outrageous, like in this picture were the guy is twirling a pole of fire.  Do you know what an imu is? It's not the animal emu, it's an underground oven - a traditional hawaiian way a  to cook pig. Did you know King Kamehameha the 4th's wife  loved horses? Her name was Queen Emma. The Luau was a spectacutar thing to see.  I can't wait to get home and see my hamster Buddy.  I can't belive that my vacation is almost over!

Body Glove Cruise

Today I went on a snorkel cruise. My dad and I saw dolphins right off the bow, and when I mean right off the bow, I mean right off the bow. It was a very big pod of dolphins. After the boat stopped we went snorkelling. On the boat there was a slide into the water. Well, I did that, and it almost knocked the breath out of me! It was like you slide down and then you hung in the air for about 30 seconds before you plunged in the sea water. It was very cold water! Here is a picture of me on the slide flapping my arms trying to fly as my dad says!

The Seahorse Farm

The seahorse farm has a really cool story behind it. Would you like to hear it, okay. About 10 years ago 2 people started a organization called the Seahorse Farm in order to save seahorses from extinction.  They took a couple seahorses and they acully domesticated them wich no one have ever done before.  Did you know that the males actually get pregnant and he can have up to 600 babies at a time and the longest that they are not pregnant for is 1 minute!  After giving birth, they wait one minute and then the female puts the eggs into the male's pouch again.  When seahorses breed they hook tails and go together till they are face to face and then the two breed.  I love the seahorse farm. Seahorses were once found in every ocean. Did you know that seahorses only live up to 2 years in the wild! In order to own a seahorse you must take an 8 week course then get a certificate. Only then you can own a seahorse that comes from the seahorse farm. The picture on top of this blog is of me holding a seahorse called Mr. Slim. He is about 12 years old and he is one of the largest seahorses on the farm.

Dolphins Galore!

Swimming with the dolphins was amazing.   At the Hilton they have 14 Alantic Bottle-Nosed Dolpins.  They actually are allowed to have up to 136 dolphins because of the large size of their enclosure.   Right now they have 2 babies, one 18 months old and the other 2 years old.   Their oldest dolphin, Eva, is 38 and dolphins in the wild only live to about 25.   They live longer at the Hilton because of the good quality care that they get.  I got pictures taken with Kao, an eight year old female.  We watched Shaka get her teeth brushed and fed her some fish afterwards.  The best was when we got to swim with Pukanala in the deeper dolphin tank.   We watched her swim under us with our masks on, she splashed us, and did tricks when we did certain hand signals.  The dolphin in the top picture is of Shaka. The second picture is of my mom and I floating on our backs with Pukanala and when we started kicking our feet, she flipped her tail and splashed us.    The third picture is of Kao when she came to say hello to us.  The last picture is of my sister, Bethany, giving Pukanala a hand signal.   It sure was a once in a lifetime experience.

Back In The Saddle

I'm so glad that I got to ride today.  I rode at Kahua Ranch.  they have over 25,000 cattle and about 30 horses including boarding horses.  At first I rode a horse called Ella?( I'm not sure) but then a girl wanted to switch horses with somebody because the horse (named Charles) was being naughty so I switched with her. The horse I was riding was being to slow I kinda wanted to switch too!  Charles is the one on the right in the first picture and Blaze is the horse on the left (nicknamed by us Boloni head).  Charles has the smoothest canter I have ever experienced in my life.  My dad rode a horse called Samson (never thought he would ever ride a horse) but he did. It was an awesome day!

Dive, dive, dive!

All right! Today I went on an Atlantis submarine. It was awesome,  I loved it. We went more than 100 feet under water and saw 2 ship wrecks!

We even saw a moray eel  and a bit father out we saw a white reef shark.   The guide said this was very rare to see sharks from the sub because sharks are nocturnal animals.  I was very surprised by this.  He also said that this was the only shark that does not have to keep swimming to stay alive. They can breath while resting in the sand !  It was a cool day ! Here are some videos  from Youtube that you might want to watch that my dad took in the sub.

Also see the new pictures from Sunday and the volcano video from yesterday.
